Christmas

We told the boys to come straight into our room when they woke up and not even look in the living room and then we would all go together and see what Santa had brought.

After we opened our presents, the older kids and I headed over to Nana & Papa's to open some more...

Then I went home to watch the babies and Bert took the other 3 over to his moms.  It was a fun, busy day!

Power Outage

Our power went out tonight around 5:30.  It was off for 5 hours!  Thankfully our house didn't get too cold.  The boys didn't like it very much but tried to stay entertained with coloring and puzzles.  They kept asking if they could go to Nana's and play.

The girls got their first dose of the Synagis shot today.  It has taken 2 months of back and forth with the doctors office, me, our insurance company and the specialized pharmacy.  Finally everything got settled and the doctor's office called today to say they had the shots in and I could come by anytime.  Mom and I bundled the babies up and took them in.  This is a special shot for premature babies to take during RSV season.  I've been told that it won't prevent the girls from getting RSV but if they were to get RSV the shot will help make their symptoms a lot more manageable.

Holding Their Own Bottles

We finally made it!  The girls are starting to hold their own bottles now which makes feeding time so much faster and easier!

Milk

Rylee loves milk and asks for some multiple times a day.  I guess this time I didn't jump up fast enough to get it so she decided to get it herself!

Progressive Dinner

Tonight was the Williams Family Progressive Dinner.  Rick and Kim came by to babysit so Bert and I could go to it.  I was able to go to Ben and Becky's for appetizers and then had just made it to Mom and Dad's for the main dish when Bert came and said the baby's were crying pretty hard.  We made up some to-go plates and headed home.

The kids got their new Christmas pajamas tonight.  They look so cute in them!

Birthday Extravaganza

I was very spoiled on my birthday yesterday!  Mom came over to help and she changed every diaper so I could have a break!  Bert came home early from work and brought us lunch and a slice of red velvet cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory.  Then Tiff came by later to help Mom babysit while Bert and I went out to eat to La Jolla Groves.  We walked around the Riverwoods shops too but it was a really cold night so we didn't stay too long.

Tonight I had a girls night out with my Mom, Tiff, Erin, and Becky.  We went to dinner at Olive Garden and then did some shopping at the Quilted Bear.  Dad and Bert took care of the kids!  It's been a great couple of days!  Now it's back to the grind =).

Tiff and I took some pictures of the girls today to get ready for the Christmas card.

Cooper hasn't been feeling very good today so I'll get the boys pictures later!

11-29-13

I have been working with Dr. Hoffman's office to try and wean Jordyn off her oxygen.  I take the oxygen off for a little while during the day and do spot checks then the next day I do a little longer.  She's always done really well when she's awake but when I have tried to check her during naps or at night she dips low.  Today I got the go ahead from Dr. Hoffman that she can be off oxygen during the day while she is awake and just wear it for naps and bedtime.  We are so excited!  This is the first step to getting her off it permanently and this will make going places so much easier!  We don't have to haul the tank around with us anymore!

Mad Face

This is Rylee's mad face.  When I make a mad face back at her she tells me to "be happy!"

Spot Checks

I've been weaning Jordyn, with the help of Dr. Hoffman's nurse, Heidi.  She is off for a couple hours everyday and I am supposed to do a few spot checks during that time with the SAT monitor.  So far, she's stayed in the 90's right where she's supposed to be.  I think she's enjoying having a break from the tubes too!

Ready to Race

Papa came over tonight to help Jack's with the finishing touches on his Pinewood Derby car.

Cereal

I fed the girls some rice cereal and squash for the first time today.  Jordyn was not so interested and after the first bite she just locked her lips together and wouldn't let me in.  Addi did better about opening her mouth and eating the food which is no surprise since she would eat all day if I let her.

They both made a lot of funny faces the whole time.

Eventually, Jordyn got upset and had definitely had enough.

No Heat

We woke up this morning to a cold house.  The furnace had stopped working in the night and wouldn't come back on.  We called a repairman but they couldn't come until the evening so we got all bundled up and went about our day.  The repairman said the furnace was installed in '85 and would cost a lot of money to repair and there was no guarantee how much longer it would last.  So, needless to say, we'll be getting a new one!  Hopefully they can come install it soon so we won't have to be cold for too long.

Visit from the Aunties

Peggy's sisters came down tonight.  We had dinner and played some card games.  It was fun to see them and they enjoyed seeing the babies for the first time.

Halloween

I had to get Ry's picture a few days after Halloween because she was sick and didn't go out trick-or-treating.  Nick came over to help me with the babies while Bert took the boys out.  I've never been home on Halloween before to pass out the candy but we had quite a few kids knocking on the door.

Williams Halloween Party

These four girls are going to be so close!  Avery was born in January, my girls in February and Macy in April.

They bobbed for apples, decorated sugar cookies, had a scavenger hunt and ate doughnuts on a string.  It was a fun party!

Centershift

Mom and Peggy were nice enough to watch the babies for me this afternoon so I could take these 3 up to Bert's work to trick-or-treat.  They always come home with tons of candy and I'm sure Bert likes showing them off too.  I got asked a lot about the twins and why I hadn't brought them.  They'll be there next year for sure.

We also had a ward Halloween party tonight and Erin and Tiff watched the babies so I could actually go to a ward party.  It was a lot of fun and we had a good time.

Habitat

Jacks has been working on a grasslands habitat project all week.  He had to make a booklet that told all about the grasslands and then make this diorama to display in his classroom.

Loves Books

Rylee loves to read and has really been enjoying all the Halloween books I got out for the month.  She asks Nana to read to her everyday!

"Chicken"

Addi thinks Cooper is hilarious and he doesn't even have to try.  I have yet to be able to get her to giggle and laugh but tonight all Cooper had to say to her was "chicken" and she thought that was the funniest thing she'd ever heard.

Bus

We get to see school buses multiple times a day and Rylee just loves it.

Cardiologist

I took Addi to the Cardiologist today for a follow-up appointment.  She was pretty fussy and tired during the appointment and she cried the whole time he was trying to listen to her heart with the stethoscope.  So he can't say 100% but he's fairly certain her PDA has closed off on his own.  He thinks she would have a lack of energy and not be eating good or gaining weight if that were still open.  He wants me to come back again in 6 months to check if the ASD valve has closed off or not.  Who knows about all this stuff?  I just do what I'm told. :)

I asked him about Jordyn and told him about the times when I have tried to wean her and how it didn't go well.  The last time I brought her into his office was back in July and he told me he didn't want me to bring her in again until she was off her oxygen.  And at the time he assured me it would be just a few more months.  I explained how frustrated I was with our lack of progress and with the equipment I have to work with.  He wants me to make an appointment for her and bring her in soon for a check-up with him.  Hopefully he'll be able to figure it all out for me.

Sleepover

One last sleepover before RSV season starts and we go into hibernation mode. :)
