Crazy Kids!

My friend came over the other day to interview me for an assignment she was working on. She brought her little girl who is a couple months older than Cooper. The kids all get along great and were playing really well together! After a while I commented that I hadn't heard anything from them (which is odd because when other people come over my kids think they have to show off by playing as LOUDLY as they can!) So I got up to look for them and this is what I found...

They had brought almost every toy we own and put it in the kitchen!! I could not stop laughing!

This is our toy room and this bookshelf is usually full of toys! They had emptied it out completely!!

Apparently they were getting ready for a football game...whatever that means! That's the only explanation I could get out of all three of them. It was sooo funny!

Birthday Trip

My birthday was last Friday and I knew that Bert was planning a getaway for us. But that's all I knew! It was all a big surprise (which I love!) So I assumed that we were probably just going to head up to Park City or Salt Lake or something close by. Boy was I shocked when he got on the freeway and started heading south! So then I decided we were probably going to St. George. Which we did. We got off to eat at the Texas Roadhouse (which I also love!) and then I was waiting for him to find the hotel and all of a sudden there's a giant sign on the side of the freeway that says "Welcome to Arizona"! So, our final destination, after soooo much driving (I am totally impatient on roadtrips!) was Las Vegas!

Bert did a great job with all the planning! We got there late Friday night and checked into the Venetian. We had a beautiful room! It was the only thing that I got pictures of from that whole weekend! I'm weird about asking strangers to take a picture for me. I know, it's really dumb!

They had us up on the 30th floor so it had an amazing view! I know it's all blurry but you can get the idea!So we really only had one day to spend in Vegas but it was packed full of stuff so it felt like a full trip instead of just one day! We went to a spa and were able to see The Phantom of the Opera and the Blue Man Group. In between we ate some very yummy food and we did that all in our hotel! The shows and the restaurants and the spa were all in the Venetian so we never really had to leave and drive around!

It was a very fun trip and much needed too! I love my kids but I also love some time away to just relax and be with Bert! Thanks to my mom and dad for watching them over the weekend! The boys loved sleeping over at Nana and Papa's and they keep asking to go back again!

Christmas Decorations

We spent most of Saturday getting all of our Christmas stuff our and decorating the Christmas tree. I LOVE Christmastime and I love getting ready for it! The boys were very excited about all the decorations. They would pull something out of the box and ask me where it goes and if I told them it went in their room they would smile really big and run down the hall to put it in there. They were really excited about helping put the decorations on the tree...

This is how it looked when they got done. The ornaments were all at the bottom of the tree and a lot of them were on the same branch bunched together.

After they were finished and off playing with something else I moved them all. I made sure to take a picture first but I am just too OCD to leave it like that.

Here they are with their tree in their room. They are so proud of it and anyone that walks in the door has to be escorted to their bedroom to see their tree in their room.

**My boys are totally obsessed with still wearing shorts! Everyday they ask if they can change out of the outfits I put them in. It's so crazy! They are taking after their dad who wears shorts all year round. Jacks thinks he can run faster in shorts so that is his argument. They are total goofs!

Halloween

I know I am way behind and I have a lot of catching up to do...yikes! I wanted to post their Halloween pictures even though I am a month late :)! They looked so cute!

Captain Hook

Buzz Lightyear

Here's the group of grandkids on my side of the family. My family all came over on Halloween for soup and bread and then we all headed out trick-or-treating together to a few houses and then split up to do our own neighborhoods. They boys had a fun time and we ended up with tons of candy from trick-or-treating at Bert's work, our ward party, and then trick-or-treating around the neighborhood!

"It's Autumntime!! It's Autumntime!!"

We have been doing a lot of "Fall" activities lately. First, we went to the HeeHaw Farm which is one of the boys favorite places. They have so many activities and fun things to do! We always have a good time there.

They had this cute tire swing that was made to look like a horse. Cooper didn't want to get off and give anyone else a turn.

The pumpkin patch

Jacks loved the big slide. Cooper didn't want anything to do with it so he mostly played on the little tube slides.

He was talking to the donkey and I got the camera out to take a picture and he's my little poser so he immediately turned around and smiled like this so I could get a shot of him and the donkey.

I absolutely LOVE burning bushes in the fall!! It is the most beautiful fall color! The boys and I were out running errands and we drove by these and I made them get out and take a picture by it. Isn't it gorgeous??

On Friday night we headed out to the Big Red Barn in Santaquin to do our annual hayride and pumpkin picking. We went with some of my family.
We searched and searched for a little one that was Cooper's size and we finally found one! He was very proud of his pumpkin!

I can't believe how fast October is breezing by! I love the fall so much! Hopefully the cold will hold out a little longer so we can keep enjoying it!

Bert's Birthday

Wow I haven't updated this in a while! Bert turned 30 on Oct 7th. I think he had a good day! We went golfing in the evening after work and then out to his favorite restaurant, Goodwood. Then we picked up the boys from Nana's house and went home to have cake and open presents. The boys picked out a Cookies n' Cream ice cream cake from the store and we all enjoyed it very much.

I really wanted to do something fun for his birthday this year since 30 is sort of a milestone. So I threw a surprise birthday party for him on the Saturday after his birthday. It turned out really well! I stressed about it so much that I woke up that morning with a cold sore! That's the way it goes!
We had the party at Westmore Park and it's hidden from the road so I made this sign with my mom and Erin and we all held it for him so he saw it right after he turned the corner into the parking lot!Casey was in charge of getting him to the park so he took Bert golfing in the morning with Scott and Nick. It was nice to have him gone while I was doing last minute preparations....but golf is not something that you can time exactly so they ended up being about 45 minutes later than I had hoped and planned for.

My sister-in-law Becky gave me this idea and I loved it! It turned out just like I imagined and it was fun and easy. I had make copies of a bunch of his baby pictures and fun pictures growing up and they were on some of the triangles. It was fun to see people enjoy them.

We had so much yummy food!! Thanks to everyone who brought something! There was plenty and it was ALL really good!

Last...but definitely not least...the cake! My sisters and mom helped me with this and it took us about 4 hours to get it done! I loved the finished product and Bert was really impressed too! Everything on the cake is edible! It's all made out of Fondant frosting...even the golf ball and clubs. My sister made the cupcakes for me and they turned out super cute too!

It turned out well and all my stressing was for nothing! I'm so glad to have it over with and not have to worry about what I say in front of Bert anymore. There were so many times that I would have to catch myself so I wouldn't give anything away! That was starting to get really hard. Plus, I know I'm a bad liar and I can't look people in the eyes when I do it and so that would stress me out too. I was sure he knew something was up...but he says he had no idea and he was completely surprised! Happy Birthday Old Man!!!

This is Cooper's attempt at hide-and-seek.

Mascot Bowl

We went to a Bee's game at the beginning of August and Cooper fell in love with the Bee mascot. Ever since he has asked to go to another game and loves to look at the pictures of the Bee on our computer. So when Bert's friend told us about a Mascot Bowl going on in Lehi last night, we jumped at the chance. The boys had a BLAST!!!

They let you go down and meet and get autographs with the mascots before the game starts. Now, even though I told you Cooper is in love with the Bee...it is only from a distance. He refused to get his picture taken with any of them!!

The mascots play against a Lehi Little League Football team. I said to Bert that it was my kinda game because it was more entertaining to me than a regular football game. The best was when the mascot would be running with the ball and dragging about 5 little leaguers that were trying to tackle him.
We invited Peggy (Bert's mom) to go with us and I think she had a good time. I know the boys loved having her there because they were fighting over who got to sit with Grandma.

They handed out posters and we hung them up in the boys' room above their beds. It was really fun and something we will definitely do again!! True to form, the boys are already asking to go again and don't quite understand that we have to wait a whole year before we can see the Fox and Bee again :)!

First Day of Fall

We celebrated the first day of fall by going for a drive up the canyon (we actually didn't even know it was the first day of fall until someone told me the next day ;). It was so beautiful! I love fall and the changing of the leaves! I wish it would last for a long time!!

Family Pictures

We had our family pictures taken in August by my friend Kirsten and they turned out so great! I was so pleased! If anyone needs any pictures taken, her and her sister do a great job! Her blog is linked on the right, it's called Two Sister's Photography! Call them!

I am usually so bugged after pictures because we go somewhere like Target and you only have a half hour to get a good picture. My boys end up being really nervous in the dark room with bright lights on them and some girl they don't know trying to make them smile. So, needless to say, we don't end up with very many good ones. But this time was so different!! We did it outside which automatically made the boys more comfortable and the girls were so patient with Cooper because it took him quite a while to warm up! I brought my sister Erin along and she eventually got him to smile and then we ended up with some great shots. There are so many I like, but I thought I would show you a few of my favorites...
