The kids and I went to dinner with Tiff tonight at the California Pizza Kitchen.  Afterwards we hit the Disney store and Tiff bought the kids these super cute jammies for our Disneyland trip at the end of the month.

Date Night

We have been so busy lately that it has been over a month since Bert and I have gone out on a date.  Far too long!  I dropped a few hints ;) and he planned a fun night out.  Peggy watched our kids while we went to Zupas for dinner and then to the temple.  It has been a long time since I've been there because of life and having a baby, but it was so nice to be there again and walk out feeling so peaceful and content!!

First Day of Kindergarten

His first day finally came.  He's in the afternoon class and all morning I kept asking him if he was nervous or excited and he kept saying he was excited.  When we pulled up to the school I could tell he was getting a little nervous because he asked if I was walking him up to the door and he wanted to hold my hand.  Even after we got in the classroom, he put his backpack in his cubby and then came back over to stand by me and hold my hand.

He's in Tiff's class this year which he is really excited about.  Ry and I have the afternoons all to ourselves now.  Girl party every day!

Rylee's Birthday Party

We celebrated Ry's birthday tonight over at my mom's house.  My boys didn't want anything to do with their 1st birthday cake.  They wouldn't even touch it.  I thought for sure Rylee would be different.  She loves to eat everything!  And she is becoming more independent and wanting to feed herself a lot of the time.  But...it didn't happen.  Tiff smashed her hand in it because she didn't want to touch it.  Then she smeared that all over herself but she didn't want to eat any of it.

At first, she was more interested in the bow than opening her presents.

But then she got the hang of it.  She got lots of cute new clothes and some new toys.

This was her cake.  Mom, Tiff, Erin, and Shelly Ann all helped make it last night.  It came together pretty quickly and I was very pleased with how it turned out!  It tasted really good too!  Red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting.  So delicious!!

Poor Cooper

We went to a park last night and Cooper was climbing on the outside of a tube slide and fell off.  Bert and I didn't see it but he must have landed on his foot somehow and possibly sprained it.  It has been hurting him to put pressure on it and it's a little swollen and sore.  Hopefully he will heal quickly!  He missed his first soccer game today and I hope he won't miss any more!

Peach Jam

I got together with my mom today and made some peach jam.

First Day of 2nd Grade

Jacks is going to Orem Elementary this year and is in Miss Funk's class.

They didn't seem nervous at all.  I think I was more nervous than they were.  They both had a good first day!

Opening Presents

Rylee got to open her presents from Grandma Keele tonight.

Happy Birthday Rylee!!

Rylee turned 1 today!!  We had to postpone her party because my dad's work party was today at the Hogle Zoo.  We had a great time walking around looking at the animals.  The polar bear was the best.  He was swimming around right in front of the glass the whole time we were watching him.

Lagoon

Bert's work party was at Lagoon this year.  They had it there last year for the first time but I had just had Rylee and so I was in the hospital with her while Bert went with the boys.  This year, Ry and I got to be in on the fun too.

First ride of the day!  I quickly realized that I am not young anymore.  I used to be able to ride every ride at Lagoon and this Paratrooper ride was one of my favorites!  Unfortunately, this ride turned out to be Cooper's favorite and he kept asking to go back again and again but none of us adults wanted to ride it again because it would make us sick.

 

Nana didn't know this ride would get you wet.  She let out a shriek when it started and she got sprayed right in the head.  She got soaked and Jacks loved it!

Good thing Nana came with us because Bert and I can't ride any of the spinny rides.

Ry loved the Carousel!!  Until it was time to get off...

We were so glad to have Papa and Nana come with us.  It was a very fun day!

Aquarium

We went to The Living Planet Aquarium today.  Ry loved watching the penguins swim by the glass.  She wanted to touch them.  Occasionally they would swim by really close and freak her out and she would lean back.

The main reason I wanted to go was to see the River Otters that are on display there.  They were so cute!  Two of them were sleeping but the other one was very entertaining to watch.

Walker

Ry has been walking around with her walker today.  She gets stuck pretty easy and doesn't know how to turn so she will either just stand there and wait for help or give up and crawl away.

Wicked

Tiff, Shelly, Erin, Mom and I all went to see Wicked tonight at the Capitol Theater in Salt Lake.  It was soooo good!  I loved it and am obsessed with the soundtrack now!!

Milagros

We went out to dinner to Milagros with some of Bert's family.  It was delicious and fun!  The boys played at Grandma's house with all their cousins and we just had Ry with us.

Keele Reunion - Day 2

We started out the day at Peggy's for some yummy breakfast and then headed over to the baseball fields for a homerun derby. 

 Bert and I were in charge of lunch so we ordered a 6 ft long sub from Wal-mart and served Frito Salad, watermelon, and chips with it.  It was a hit.  Very easy and very yummy!

We were also in charge of putting together an obstacle course for everyone to participate in.  Bert did most of the work and I helped out with a few ideas here and there.  He's getting to be quite the pro at these things because he does one for mutual every year :).

Cooper got soaked during the obstacle course.  I don't think he was too upset about it.

The winning team: Grant, Daniela, Jennifer, Travis, Dawson, Stephanie, and Lynette.

In the evening we went over to Peggy's church and shot rockets in the parking lot, played bunco, and had dinner.  It was a long, busy, hot weekend!  We had a great time!

Keele Reunion - Day 1

Bert took the day off and took the boys to Seven Peaks this morning to play and then we headed over to Peggy's for lunch.  After lunch we drove to Terri's and played in the pool all afternoon and had dinner there.

 Cooper finally got up the nerve to jump off the ledge into Terri's pool.  He was so nervous, but then so proud of himself afterward.  He is getting so much braver lately and I love it.

After dinner, we headed back to Peggy's house for an outdoor movie.  It didn't work out though because the weather didn't cooperate and we ended up in the basement watching Kung Fu Panda projected on the wall.  Ry and I went home and Bert and the boys were going to stay the night and sleep in the backyard in the tent with everyone else.  But that didn't work out either.  I got a phone call that Jacks had lost his tooth and then passed out after and hit his head on the wall.  He threw up and then got really sleepy.  Bert kept him up because we were very worried that he had a concussion.  He brought him home and we put him to bed but made sure to wake him up in the middle of the night to see how he was doing.  He was fine thankfully! 

Lunch

The boys have been making their own lunches lately!  And then, of course, they want a picnic in the living room to watch a movie while they eat.:)

Ry's Piano Debut

She figured out she is tall enough to play the piano now!

The boys are so good at making Rylee laugh!  She loves to watch them play and if they find something that she laughs at, they will keep doing it over and over and over again.

4th of July Pics

Every year we get the cousins together and take a 4th of July picture.  We finally got around to it tonight.  We had a BBQ at Ben & Becky's house and then took the pictures.  We all commented on how well they turned out this year...either the kids are getting older and better at it or we have tortured them enough that they know to smile good and get it over with. :)

Apple Picking Time

Ry helped pick up apples in Grandma's yard tonight.  She crawled around and would pick it up and hand it to me.  Or, when I wasn't close by, she'd try to sneak a bite!

Waking Up

Ry wakes up in such a fun mood.  She's so happy and smiley!  I love to open her door and see her standing up i n her crib waiting for me with a big grin on her face!

7 Brides for 7 Brothers

Mom, Erin, Tiff, Becky and I went up to Sundance tonight to see 7 Brides for 7 Brothers.  I have loved that movie my whole life and was so excited to go see the play.  They did a really great job with it and the trees surrounding the stage were so beautiful.  It was so nice to be out with the girls!

Frogs

I went to get a haircut from Shelly last week and she asked me if I wanted some frogs.  I thought about it for a second and then figured the boys would like having them.  Jacks is my big helper whenever I have to clean the tank.  I pour the frogs into a bowl and clean out the tank and put fresh water in and then he picks them up and puts them back in the tank for me.  I don't ever have to touch the slimy things!!

Still Sick

She still has a fever today and threw up twice last night.  Poor baby.  Both of her naps today were over 3 hours long, so hopefully she'll start feeling better.
