Sick Girl

Poor Rylee!  She woke up with a fever yesterday and has been pretty fussy and unhappy.  I'm not sure if she's teething (although she hasn't had a fever when any of her other teeth popped through) or if it's something more serious.

Milk

I stopped nursing Rylee a week ago.  I felt like I didn't have that much to offer anymore and that I was ready to be a little bit more free.  She still relied on me to get to sleep at night, so I always had to be home at her bedtime.  It took her 3 days before she realized she wasn't going to get anything else so she might as well drink the milk.  The first day was hard because she cried when I laid her down for both naps, but she is so much better about it now.  She drinks her milk while Bert or I read her a story and then we sing her a song and lay her down and she goes right to sleep.

Family Dinner

We had family dinner tonight with Wade & Jennie and Paul & Leslie.  It's been about a year since I've seen them.  It's always fun to visit and catch up and the kids love playing with Taylor and Clayton!

Unsworth Reunion

Bert's extended family on his mom's side has a reunion every summer.  It lasted most of today and it was fun to see people that you only see once a year and catch up with them.  The kids had a blast playing with all the cousins.

Father/Sons Campout

Bert took the boys camping tonight for the Father/Sons Campout.  They were so excited to go and had a really good time!  Ry and I went to dinner at Mimi's Cafe with Tiff, Erin, and Tate and then went to Gymboree to do a little shopping.

Science Camp

Jacks, Tessa, and Luke have all been going to a Science Camp up in Heber this week.  Jacks has really been enjoying it and loves to tell us all about it when he gets home.

Flash

Whenever I get the camera out now this is the face that I get.  She knows the flash is going to come, so she squints and gives me a cheesy grin!

Pioneer Day

We hit Seven Peaks this morning with Ben & Becky's family (minus Jacks and Tessa who were at Science Camp).  Cooper was hesitant to go on the slides at first, but we had a talk about how he needed to try everything at least once and then, of course, he loved them all!

After Seven Peaks we hung out at home for the afternoon and then headed over to Peggy's for a BBQ.  Then the whole family played outdoor games.  Of course we played kickball, then some game with the basketball hoop, and then we had a big group playing Annie-I-Over.  It was so fun to spend time all together as a family!!

Learning to Ride

Cooper finally let us talk him into learning to ride his bike without training wheels.  He has never wanted to learn because he's too scared of falling and getting hurt.  He did pretty good but we'll have to go back soon for more lessons.

"Uh-oh"

Rylee is getting so big.  A few people mentioned today at church how big she is getting and when I said that she will turn 1 next month they couldn't believe it.  She is growing up so fast!  She has finally started waving goodbye (after 2 months of me trying and trying, she finally did it one day for my mom) and she says "Uh-oh".  It is so cute!  Can it be considered her first word if it's not really a word? :)

4-Wheelin'

Dave invited Bert and the boys to go 4-wheeling today.  Ry and I stayed home to clean the house and go grocery shopping.  Doesn't seem quite fair, does it?

Pool Party

We invited our cousins over (Bree was sick and Drew was napping) for a Pool Party.  The kids went back and forth between the slip-n-slide and the pool.  They looked like they were having a blast!

We went for a walk tonight around the neighborhood.  It was so hot that we didn't last very long!

Big Girl

She has been pulling herself up to everything now and it makes her seem like such a big girl!  And she has the cheesiest grin!  I love it!!

Tennis

For FHE tonight we had a quick lesson and then headed over to the junior high to play tennis.  The boys love it and are getting pretty good!

I was laying on the floor today at my mom's and Ry came up and started pulling my hair and when I would say "Hey!", she would laugh and laugh.  It was so funny!

She loves to play peek-a-boo and this outfit was perfect for it!!

Bike Ride

Becky and her girls are gone this week to Vegas so Ben and Drew rode over to our house tonight for a visit.  Ben put Rylee in the trailer and Jacks & Coop got their bikes out and rode over to the church parking lot with Ben.

Happy Anniversary

Bert and I celebrated our 9th Anniversary today!  Peggy watched our kids while we went to La Jolla Groves for dinner.  I really liked it.  The food was delicious.  Bert liked what he got, he just didn't get enough of it.:)  So after dinner we decided to go down to Sammy's to try one of their famous pie shakes.  We had been wanting to try one for a while and it just hadn't happened yet.  Unfortunately their ice cream machine broke right before they were going to do our order so we had to wait a long time to get our shakes.  I thought my shake was okay, not anything special, but maybe that was because of all the hype and because we had to wait so long to get it!  I can't believe it's been 9 years!!  Love you Bert!

When I walked in her room to get her up from her nap, this is how she greeted me!  She had pulled herself up and was standing there waiting and smiling at me!  She was so proud of herself!

Daddy's Little Girl

I saw this cute outfit at the Orem Summerfest in June and was telling Bert about it.  He spent Saturday evening helping Mike at his booth and he came home with this present for Ry.  She looks so cute in it!  See how fun it is to buy clothes for her Bert?!

Cuddling

Ry went to sleep just fine tonight but about an hour after we put her down she woke up crying and then didn't want to go back to sleep.  We would rock her back to sleep but she would wake up as soon as we laid her down.  I finally just went in to sit on my bed and played solitaire on Bert's phone while I cuddled with her.  The next thing I knew she was asleep, and thankfully, stayed asleep the rest of the night!

Class Clown

Big Five

Bert took the boys to Big 5 tonight to buy a kids Bocce set.  I should have known that they wouldn't be able to go to a store like that and come home with just one thing ;).  Jacks took his wallet with him and Bert said he went straight for this double hoop and wanted to buy it.

4th of July

We have a tradition in my family to go watch the hot air balloon launch on the 4th.  I've been going since Jacks was born and I think I've only missed once!  We were disappointed last year because it was too windy for the balloons to launch, but this year the weather was perfect and we had a good time!  After the balloon launch we headed back to mom and dad's for breakfast!

Cooper

Then we went 4-wheeling up past Hope Campground in the afternoon and everyone had a great time.  Dave has two 4-wheelers and my dad has one, so the kids all got tons of turns and had a blast!

Dave brought this half-tent that he bought for soccer and it was perfect for Rylee!  I could put her down to play with her toys and crawl around without worrying about her getting all dirty and eating everything she could find!

Jacks, Tate, and Nick

Nick didn't have any sunglasses and so my mom kindly offered hers to him.  He looked good!!

The kids all fell asleep on the way home from 4-wheeling.  We let them sleep for a little bit and then woke them up to go to a BBQ at Peggy's house.  Bert organized a Bocce tournament for adults and one for the kids.  After the tournament, we all played a big round of kickball.  Kids vs. Adults (this is the kids' favorite way to play!)  Then we headed back over to Nana and Papa's to watch the Stadium of Fire fireworks from their backyard.  I love the 4th of July!

Slip n' Slide

We have a hill in our backyard which I didn't like when we first moved in.  I had all these dreams and ideas about digging it out and putting a retaining wall in so it would be flat for the boys to play back there.  I have since "seen the light" and love our hill!!  It's perfect for sledding in the winter and slip n' sliding in the summer!

Lego Man

Jacks got a late birthday present on Saturday and he started right in on building it and got it all put together pretty quick!  I remember loving Lego's as a kid, but now as a mom, I hate all those little tiny pieces that I find everywhere!!

Bocce

Bert had a Bocce tournament at his work this past week and he liked the game and thought it would be a good game for the kids to play.  So tonight, while we were at Peggy's, we played Bocce and we all had a good time.  It is a fun game and perfect for all ages to play!
