Trafalga

Bert's boss let all the UT county people leave work early today to avoid the bad conference weekend traffic, so he came home and took the boys to Trafalga to play a little mini-golf.

Shower Time

Spring Weather

Cooper and Luke had a soccer game tonight and it was pretty windy and cold so Tate, Jacks, Ry and I all ended up in the car to stay warm.

Riding Bikes

After dinner tonight we walked over to the church parking lot and the boys rode their bikes.  It was a fun family night!

Library

We went to the library tonight to check out some books and movies.  I'm SO glad my boys love books and reading so much.  I hope they always will!

Daddy Time

Bert is always so good to play with the kids and will make up fun games for them to play!  They love it!

Rock Collection

Cry It Out

Rylee started sleeping through the night when she was 2 months old and I loved it!  Then at about 5 1/2 months she started getting up around 5 am and it was so hard on me because it was too early for me to stay up but not enough time to go back and get some good sleep.  I was exhausted every day!  She also started taking a lot longer to fall asleep at night and I sometimes spent 2 hours getting her down for the night.  So we finally let her cry it out tonight.  It wasn't too bad and she cried for 30 minutes and then fell asleep.  She woke up around 5 am again and then cried for about an hour.  That was really hard!  I wanted to pick her up so bad!  But she is doing so much better now!  She doesn't really even cry at all when we lay her down.  She is still sometimes getting up around 5 am and I can't figure out why but I feel like she is getting so much more sleep.  Her naps are longer and I feel like I have some more me time since putting her down doesn't take 2 hours anymore!

Soccer

Jacks' first game was tonight.  The boys are so excited to be back and playing again! 

Haircut

I got my hair cut tonight by Nicole.  She came by our house and cut it for me.  I have been toying with the idea of going short again for a while now and finally decided I was ready.  I love it!  It hasn't taken any getting used to since I had it short for so long and I feel fun and sassy now.  I definitely needed a makeover and feel like a new woman!

Goofball

This boy is always getting in the way when the camera's out.  He is such a tease and loves to jump in front of the camera just as I am taking a picture!

Snowman

It snowed today and Jacks finally got to make a snowman.  He has been talking about it and wanting to do it all winter long. 

Beautiful Weather

The boys are really enjoying the beautiful, warm weather.  I love that it is warm enough for them to go outside and play now!

Soccer

Soccer season has officially started up again!  Coop had his first game today.  Unfortunately, Bert and I missed it.  Bert twisted his ankle this morning while playing basketball and can't really get around and I didn't want the baby out in the cold, so Dave and Erin took him and he came home and told us all about it.

Playing Outside

It's been so nice so I took Ry outside today and we sat on the porch and watched the boys play soccer.  She loved it!  She would get so excited when they would run towards her.

Homework

Jacks is good at getting his homework done.  He has to read for 20 minutes every night and also has some worksheets and a word sort. I can't believe his 1st grade year is almost over and then onto 2nd grade.  Wow!

Rolling All Over

Rylee's been rolling all over lately.  I'll set her down and leave the room and when I come back she is in a completely different spot.

FHE

Cooper and I spent most of the day making cookies to take to FHE with the Keele's.  We were in charge of dessert and I thought it would be fun to make homemade ice cream sandwiches.  I made 2 different batches of cookies so there would be a variety and then Peggy called to tell me we were going to have around 35 people.  I was nervous that I hadn't made enough but ended up coming home with quite a few extras because so many of the adults chose to have an ice cream cone instead.  Who would have known?

Kickball

If they could, these kids would play kickball every day of their lives!  I'm so glad it's warming up so they can be outside more!

I love when babies get old enough to eat solid foods.  It's so fun to try out all the different fruits and veggies and so nice that I don't have to nurse her quite as often.

Job Chart

We made a job chart for each of the boys and they can earn money for every job they get done.  So far so good!

Testimony

I've lived in wards before where the first 20 minutes of testimony meeting is the primary kids "burying" their testimony.  We don't live in a ward like that, the primary kids hardly ever get up to share their testimony.  So, I leaned over to Jacks today and asked if he wanted to get up and talk in the microphone and share his testimony with everyone.  He promptly said no, so I left him alone for a few minutes and then tried one more time.  I still got a no and so I gave up.  I leaned over and asked Coop if he wanted to and got a no from him, but then Jacks heard me and changed his mind.  He got up with Bert and did a great job!  He told me when he came back to his seat that he had felt the Holy Ghost talk to him and tell him "good job."  Bert and I were so happy and proud of him!  Jacks was pretty pleased with himself too especially when a lot more kids got up after him!

Dr. Seuss Day

Jacks' school had a Read-A-Thon today in honor of Dr. Seuss' birthday.  Ben was nice enough to watch Cooper and Rylee for me.  It was some nice one-on-one time with Jacks.  We don't get to do that very often!!

Open Wide

It seemed to take Ry a lot longer than the boys to get used to solid foods.  She always needed a little coaxing to get her mouth open for the bite...but today she finally decided she liked it and opened again and again for her bites.  We got done with her cereal twice as fast!

Roll Over

She rolled over onto her stomach today!
