Bree's Party

Today we went over to Ben & Becky's to celebrate Bree's 4th Birthday.  She had a swim party in the backyard and my mom was nice enough to bring her little pool for Rylee, Tate, and Drew to swim in.  After the party my mom and dad babysat my kids while Bert and I went golfing with some of his family.  I hadn't been golfing for 2 years and it was so fun to get out and play again!!

Rylee always wants to be wherever the boys are.  Unfortunately they have a lot of little Lego pieces and tiny toys in their room so she can't be in there much...but she sure tries!

We went to Terri's tonight to swim and have a barbecue.  Peggy also wanted to squeeze in FHE and birthdays too.  It was a busy night!  The kids didn't want to get out of the pool and started asking as soon as we left when we could come back up again!

Home Again

We made it!  The kids were all really good in the car again and after we got home we went over to Peggy's for dinner.  It was a fun, but quick, trip and I'm glad to be home!

Pops' 80th Birthday

We celebrated Pops' birthday at a park in Farmington.  It was really fun to see and visit with a lot of my family that I haven't seen for a while.  After the party at the park we headed over to Rick's house to swim in his pool.  The kids had a blast going down the slide!   Then we headed back over to Pops & Gram's house for cake, cookies, and homemade lemon ice cream.  So delicious!

Road Trip to NM

We headed down to New Mexico to celebrate Pops' 80th birthday tomorrow.  I was worried about how Rylee would do in the car but she was perfect.  She only took two 30 minute naps and then just played the rest of the time.

Getting Ready

We are going to NM tomorrow and so I have been busy all day getting ready.  I got a pedicure, did laundry, baked cookies, and packed.  I think we are ready!

Peg--leg

Ry has a peg-leg crawl.  She keeps her right leg straight most of the time while she is crawling around.

Jackson's 7th Birthday

We started off the day with breakfast at McDonalds.  Nana, Tiff, Erin & her kids all joined us for the fun.  After breakfast, we headed home and blew up the kiddie pool and then didn't really see the kids again until dinnertime ;)!  They had so much fun swimming and stayed out their for probably about 5 hours!

In the evening, we headed over to Kangaroo Zoo to play for a couple of hours.  The kids had a blast!  We hadn't been there for a few years, since the kids were little enough that they needed help climbing up all the stairs and ladders, but this time they didn't need any help at all.  It was a fun party!

 

I handed Rylee to Cooper when he was at the top of a slide so she could get in on some of the fun.  Drew saw this and so got himself up onto the slide and then reached his arms out and started grunting that it was his turn to take her down.  He loves Rylee and is always wanting to hold her or hug her or give her toys.  They will be good friends when they are older.

After Kangaroo Zoo, we went back home for cake and ice cream and opening presents.  He had a great day!  My mom and I reminisced a little about what this day was like 7 years ago.  It's sometimes hard to imagine that he is already 7, but it's also hard to remember life before he was born.  Love you Jacks!

Bert passed this car on the way home from work last night.  All I can say is...people are ridiculous!

Family Swim Day

The boys have been taking swim lessons for the last 2 weeks at the Rec Center and the last day was a family swim day.  Tiff, Mom, and I took the boys and Ry.  The water was a bit cool when you first got in and Ry didn't especially like it.  But, after she warmed up, she loved it and the boys were all eager to show off their new "skills."  The pool was a bit crowded, but they still had fun.

Picnic at the Park

We grabbed a pizza and headed for the park tonight.  Erin's been at camp all week so we picked up Luke and Tate to give Dave a break.  Bert commented on how nice it was to just sit and relax! 

Meeting Baby Shaylee

Mike & Sara's baby was born yesterday and we were able to go down to the hospital tonight to visit and hold the baby.  Her name is Shaylee Mae Keele.

Her newest trick is clapping.  If I say "yay" and start clapping then she will usually join in with me and she's always got a smile while she's doing it!

Jumper

This jumper is a hand-me-down from Ali.  She has been saving it for me for about 4 years now and it's finally getting used!  Ry played in it for about 10 minutes today and loved it!

Fireworks

It was so windy all day and so we didn't think they were going to be able to do the Summerfest fireworks.  It has been horrible weather in the past and then cleared up just in time for the firework show.  I was hoping that would happen again and we went over to Peggy's house to wait and see.  It was still windy at 9:45 but by 10 it was pretty calm and they shot them off.  I stayed inside with Rylee and watched them from Peggy's living room window and the boys went out to watch them with their cousins.

Summerfest

We went over to the Summerfest this afternoon to ride some rides and eat snow cones.  It wasn't very crowded this year and it was nicer weather than it had been the year before. 

Orange Julius

Bert made Orange Julius' after dinner tonight and she loved it!  She would start grunting for more right after I took the cup away from her.

9 Month Check-up

Ry had her 9 month check-up today.  These are her stats:

Weight: 18 lb. 8 oz. - 45%

Length: 27.5 in. - 50 %

Head: 18 in. - 90%

She didn't need any shots, thankfully, and the doctor said she is developing really well.

Nana's House

We went over to Mom and Dad's tonight to discuss some Disneyland details.  We are going at the end of September to celebrate my Mom's retirement.  The kids made a zoo for their animals and then watched a movie.

Drew can't get enough of Rylee.  In fact, he only says about 6 words and Rylee is one of them. He loves her and always wants to be holding her or hugging her.  He's very sweet and soft with her.

So Many Cousins

We had dinner at Peggy's tonight and when dinner was almost ready I went looking for the kids and found most of them in the bedroom watching a movie.  After dinner we went out and played a fun game of kickball, Kids vs. Grown-ups.  Kids won!!

Bert gave Ry a taste of his creamy.  Surprisingly, she opened her mouth again for another bite.

1st Day of Summer

We had a swim party at Nana's to celebrate the first day of summer.

 

Even Ry got in on the action.  We filled up her little pool with warm water and she had a blast playing in it.
