Dance Festival

Jacks at the Dance Festival.

After the dancing, the parents were invited to come into the classrooms for an Author's Fair.  I was hesitant to go because Rylee was getting tired and ready for a nap, but I'm so glad I did!  I had thought that the kids would take turns reading to everyone but it was actually a one-on-one thing and Jacks was really excited to see me walk in the door.  We pulled some chairs over in an open area and he read me the story that he had written and illustrated.  It was so fun for me to listen and see how proud he was of his work!  I was proud of him too!!!

Memorial Day

The boys were really good helpers this year at the cemetery.  Jacks was really into watering the flowers and Cooper loved helping scrub off the grass and dirt from the headstones.  They were so into it, in fact, that they even helped water flowers and clean off the headstones of people that we didn't even know.

New Calling

Bert got put in as the 1st Counselor in the Bishopric today. 

Pops & Rylee

She even warmed up to Pops and let him hold her for a little while.

Stranger Danger

Pops and Gram stopped by today for a visit and Ry eventually let Gram hold her and wasn't fussing for me to take her!  Last night at Mom's party, Gram kept trying to hold her and was trying to get Rylee used to her.  It seemed like she was torturing her but it must have worked.  She's definitely making progress!

Cooper's Preschool Graduation

We had a busy night tonight!  Mom had her retirement party from 4:00-5:30 and then Cooper's preschool graduation was at 7.  It was a really cute program!  When Mrs. Young handed out the diplomas she told the parents what each of the kids wanted to be when they grew up.  Cooper said he wants to be a fireman just like Ben.  We have enjoyed having Mrs. Young as Cooper's teacher and will miss her.  Hopefully she's still teaching when Rylee is ready for preschool.  Bert and I are so proud of Cooper!!

Grass

When the boys were babies they hated the feel of grass and didn't want me to set them down on it.  Rylee likes it and will roll off her blanket to get to the grass!

4-Wheelin

Dave and Erin invited us up the canyon tonight for some 4-wheelin' and S'mores.  The boys had a blast!  It was a really fun night!

Bert's Back

Bert got home tonight from his trip.  They golfed pretty much the whole weekend!  These guys take it very seriously and even have a "mustard jacket" for the winner.  Mike won the jacket this year and had to wear it to dinner.  I think they had a lot of fun!!

City Creek

Tiff, Mom, Becky, Me, and Rylee drove up to City Creek today.  Dad was kind enough to watch my boys for me since Bert is in Boise.  We had a good time.  We ate lunch at the Cheesecake Factory (my first time) and I loved it!  We were able to find a cute dress for Mom to wear to her Retirement Party on Thursday.

After we got home from SLC, I took the kids home for a little while and then we headed over to Peggy's in the evening.  The kids stayed and played with their cousins while Peggy, Sara, Ali, Rylee, and I went out to dinner at the Olive Garden.

Fun day!  Lots of yummy food and shopping!!!  What more could you ask for?

9 Months Old

Rylee is 9 months old today!!  We celebrated by playing a little dress-up!  I got this bikini at my baby shower from my mom and sisters and I tried it on her to make sure it fit.  It does and is so cute on her!!

Tiff's Birthday

Today was Tiff's birthday and the whole fam (minus Bert and Nick who left today for Boise) met up at Brick Oven for dinner.  After dinner we headed over to Mom and Dad's to have some dessert and open presents.  After going to 4 more stores today, I finally had some luck and found some cute turquoise and brown luggage.  I still wish I could have found some with a cute print.  I think she liked it though and we had a fun night!

Shopping

Mom, Rylee, and I hit 6 stores tonight trying to find some cute luggage for Tiff for her birthday.  I really wanted to get some that was a fun color or had a cute print, but every store just seemed to have black, gray, or blue.  It was so frustrating!  Rylee was really good though considering she spent most of the evening in her carseat!

Almost Crawling!

She is getting so close to crawling!  She gets up on her hands and knees and rocks back and forth.  Any day now!

Arctic Circle

We went up to Alpine tonight so I could get my hair cut by Nicole.  Afterward, we hit the Arctic Circle for dinner and the kids had a blast playing on the play land with Hunter.  Before we had even driven away they were asking when we could come back!

Mother's Day

I had a wonderful Mother's Day!!  I was pampered with presents and food and some alone time to relax and read!  I felt very loved and blessed to have such a great family who I love so much!  Thank you!

Busy Day

My mom made a Mother's Day breakfast for Tiff, Erin, Becky, and me this morning.  It was very yummy and fun to be together with just the ladies. 

Afterward, I went to Home Depot and bought some flowers and spent the afternoon out in the yard planting.  Happy Mother's Day to me!

 

Bert took the kids to the park tonight and I had the house to myself for a couple of hours.  So relaxing and quiet!  Then he surprised me by bringing home Goodwood for dinner!!  It was so yummy and a great surprise!

Mother's Day Social

Jacks' class had a Mother's Day Social today and they put on a little program.  It was really fun!  They read a couple of poems and then served us cookies and punch.  Jacks has had a really great teacher this year and we will miss Mrs. Robinson.  The kids did a great job making the moms feel special!  I loved it!!

The boys are a little too obsessed with the Playstation.  As soon as they get home from school they ask me if they can play and when I tell them not until after you do your homework, they whine and promise me they'll do it right after.  It's getting way old!!  I'm going to have to figure something out for the summer or else they'll be asking all day long!!

The boys love to be able to carry Rylee around!  I think it makes them feel big and grown-up.  Now if only I could get them to change some diapers...

I had to stay home with Ry and missed both of the last games.  She is feeling much better and her fever is gone, but it was just too cold for her to be outside.  The boys had a really fun season and are bummed that it's over.  Bert said they played really good and it's been fun to see how much they've progressed from the first of the season to the last.  We have just a short summer break before it will be time to start back up again!!

Sick Baby

 

Ry had a fever today and was really fussy.  She just wanted to be held all day and didn't take good naps.  She really liked the Tylenol on the first dose I gave her but it quickly grew old for her and it was a fight to give her medicine after that.  The fever is her only symptom so I am wondering if it has to do with teething, even though she didn't get a fever when any of her other teeth popped through.  Maybe it's a molar!
